Welcome to part two of Spooky Spotlights. Today’s recommendation won’t elicit any screams, but you may find yourself letting a out a “zoinks!” or “jinkies” and leave with a strong craving for Scooby Snacks. That’s right today we are taking a look at some Scooby-Doo comics. More specifically, we are going to be looking at the DC Comics series Scooby-Doo Team-Up!
This series captures the spirit of the original Scooby-Doo cartoon and it’s sequel series The New Scooby Movies. Each issue everyone’s favorite meddling kids team up with different characters that are pulled from other classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons or from the pages of DC Comics. The long list of special guests includes some extra creepy crossovers with Swamp Thing, The Doom Patrol, Johnny Quest, Space Ghost, The Challengers of the unknown, and even a special Halloween story featuring Deadman, The Spectre, and the Phantom Stranger.
I love comics, Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and especially the Mystery Inc gang. This series fills me with nostalgia and is just an enjoyable light read that adults and kids alike can enjoy.
